What is induction-based energy harvesting?
This technology consists of collecting and converting small quantities of energy available through the radiation of a cable into an electrical source.
Without damaging the cable and without contact with it.
Recent progress in integrated circuit consumption, driven by the needs of the Internet of Things (IoT), offers new perspectives. Previously, energy harvesting was negligible compared to circuit consumption. Today, new generations of components make it possible to consider energy harvesting to significantly improve the energy efficiency of an application or to simply eliminate the use of batteries in certain devices such as wireless IoT sensors.
Inductive energy harvesting can be an essential asset for the acceptability of a new application:
- Reduction of maintenance operations -> no battery replacement needed
- Respect of the environment by eliminating the use of batteries
- New possibilities to deploy applications on distant sites or underwater
- Reduced running cost
TCT solutions break down into 2 families:
The first, a future autonomous power supply range
The second, by offering our first sensor for the IoT field to measure
- Instantaneous current
- Temperature
- Humidity
- And much more...
